Tips On How To Plan For A Wedding   by Lane Oscar

Weddings are similar to many other major life decisions in that they have a financial cost. However, because a wedding is an exceptionally emotional event, it is easy once you begin planning to go overboard and spend more than you can afford. Before beginning the planning process, it is important to set a budget with your significant other and stick to it. While a wedding is a special event, remember that you are not marrying the debt!

Make sure you are organized before you meet with vendors for your wedding. Create a checklist and a budget, have your guest list handy and have any pictures of wedding-related ideas ready for your vendors to see. You may also want to create a special email address just for the wedding to give to the vendors.

Ask around to make sure none of your guests have any food allergies! If they do, you should offer some foods which are 100% free of whatever it is that will set them off. Also, let them know if any food items DO contain the dangerous item so they can stay away from anything which might have touched it.

If you have a large bridal party, when it comes time to selecting the bridesmaids dresses, it is a great idea to let each bridesmaids pick the style of the dress that looks the best on their body type, but still is the same color as you designate for the wedding theme.

Relax. You won’t get every minor detail exactly right, you might forget to do something and you will have a day when you are angry with everyone. But by the end of your reception you will realize what this all was about and you won’t mind. Relax and you’ll be able to handle everything in a better way.

Give your guests directions to both your ceremony and reception site (if they are different). Online direction sites and GPS machines can be wrong or there may be an easier way to get your guests where they need to be. Print out your own or ask the reception site if they have handouts that you can give to your friends and family.

The easiest way to keep things in order when you are planning for your wedding is to enlist the help of one or two of your friends or family members. Have these two or so people be your go-to when you are not sure about wedding details or just need advice and it will be a lot easier on yourself in the long run.

Offer your guests the opportunity to share their advice for a happy marriage as they enter your reception venue. Place a mailbox labeled “marriage advice,” paper and envelopes on a table for guests to fill out. These keepsakes from your loved ones may be the perfect antidote to the normal rough patches that every couple experiences.

When you are three months away from your wedding, ensure that the music aspect has been taken care of, look into the wedding official who will be conducting your ceremony, confirm the food and beverage menus for the venue, and follow up on the honeymoon planning that you started a few months prior.

Take advantage of the DIY trend and do you own makeup on your wedding day. Study magazines or blogs to learn more about photo-friendly makeup, then go to town. You will look like a glammed-up version of yourself, rather than a makeup artist’s idea of what you should look like.

Shop around! Make sure you call plenty of florists when you are pricing flowers for your big day. Wedding flowers can be one of the costliest parts of your planning process. You may want to look into creating your own arrangements and buying your flowers from a wholesale outlet. There are many flower arranging tips online that can help.

To help you prepare dancing for your first dance, you should practice dancing in a long skirt a few days before your wedding. You might be used to walking around or dancing in your skirt, but it will feel different to your future husband. This will help with any awkwardness he may feel especially if your dress if puffy at the bottom.

Do not break your wedding budget on the cake. The cake can be a beautiful decoration, but there are other things you can do to make your reception site look amazing. Cakes are often very expensive; find someone who can provide you with a reasonable price and go with them.

Choosing a color palette is an important part of the wedding planning process. You have to take into account any colors of the location where your wedding will take place. You also have to think about the colors used in your bridesmaids’ dresses, the wedding invitations, and perhaps even the tablecloth and napkins at the wedding reception. But above all, you should consider what colors you will want to associate with your memories of the wedding.

Instead of a big ballroom, try a less expensive location for your wedding reception. Investigate parks, community centers and backyards. You can decorate any space that you find if you’re able to save on the fee for the location itself. Enlist help to find a cheap location and see what you can find.

When shopping for a dress, keep in mind not only the style of dress you wish to wear, but also what type of dress will actually look good on you. If you are short, stay away from altering normal length dresses and opt for the petite section. You will thank yourself in the long run.

By doing a productive research, you will find stress-free ways to plan for your wedding. You will be able to organize a special day that is meaningful to you without turning into a bridezilla! Your wedding is, after all, a celebration of the rest of your lives together as a couple.
