Does a contract need to be signed by both parties in Washington State?

I am helping a friend plan her wedding, and none of the vendors have signed their contract. Does this mean they do not have to hold up to their end? I am especially concerned where she has written in additional details.

Contract does not necessarily has to be signed. However, the process of writing down the contract’s terms and signing the contract forces both parties to think about – and be precise about – the obligations they are undertaking. Often times even written contracts have to be revised because of unpredictable changes that come up during the process of fulfilling contract obligations. In those cases regardless on the nature of the contract these changes should be mutually agreed upon.
