what is needed to become a professional Wedding Consultant?
I have been helping plan weddings lately and I have found that I really like it as stressful as it is. I’m very organized and have the patience to do the job I’m just not sure how to get into the profession. I helped plan my brother’s wedding and both of my step sister’s weddings. I sat down with them and went over what they wanted I decorated I cooked I found every detail and was even yelled at because the bride couldn’t find her father but yet after it was all over I loved it.
Desire is the best thing to have.
Then you can learn as you go. Start small and work your way into it. Advertise. Let people know that you are available.
However, a word of caution. Before you book a BIG wedding for a stranger, make sure you know what they are looking for. It might be beyond your realm at the early stages.
Then send out letters. Let caterers, jewelers, dj’s and other people affiliated with weddings know that you are in business.
Get your self some insurance and a business license and off you go.
I started my business as an officiant small and now I work every weekend.
I sent out business cards which i got printed for cheap at vistaprint and then I used my computer.
I went through a full 2 cartridges of colored ink before I got my first hit, but it has been worth every minute of it.
Oh and go to wedplan, onewed, decidio and gathering guide to see what others are charging and price your abilities accordingly.
