Free Wedding Plan Checklist

How do I really plan a good, small wedding, with a very small budget?

I want a small wedding in my family’s hometown, or maybe mine. I would prefer outside, with only 50-100 people. The only problem is, it needs to be super low-budget, but my family will not help.
If you have any great free or low cost websites, Im open to that. Or any suggestions?
Also, as Ive never planned a wedding before, I need some sort of checklist.

Our plan is for this to be the official wedding, but its going to be small. Then, when we are at where we can afford it later in life, we will take a destination type honeymoon to really celebrate it the way WE want to.
Im unsure of a true budget yet, but I might edit this later with an actual number. Thanks everyone in advance

You need to firm up your numbers before anything else. There’s a world of difference between 50 and 100. And you can’t do anything without some semblance of a budget. But my first suggestion is limit it to 50 guests maximum. There’s no way someone on a “super low budget” can throw a party for 100 people, and the number of guests is the biggest determiner of cost. It isn’t just food and drinks – it also includes invitations, postage (for 100 people, the postage alone is $100), centerpieces, chairs, place settings, etc. You may find you have to limit it even further, depending on your budget.

Go to weddingwire.com or theknot.com and look through their checklists. Then start figuring out the invite list. Start with closest friends/family and move outward.
