Discover How To Create a Complete Wedding Planning Checklist

Most weddings will take on average between 12-16 month in planning. The reason for this is because there are so many things to take into account.  This simple wedding planning checklist will make your life a lot easier.

#1 Workout Your Wedding Budget:

Before you start any planning activities work out exactly how much you are willing to spend on your Wedding Ceremony. Many couples families will offer to contribute to the wedding.  Since they are helping and have the experience of being married themselves, it would be a great idea to include them in the meeting.

#2.  Create A Wedding Planning file:

This may sound like a job but it is important to keep track of all the important documents that will go into bringing your wedding to reality. In your file you will keep wedding dress ideas, contacts, receipts and any other related documents.

#3  Plan Your Wedding Party:

This will be one of the most difficult parts of the process.  You will need to think about your reception theme, venue and what you will be providing.  If your party goes overnight you will need to think about hotel/resort bookings.

#4. Creating Your Guest List:

Building your guest list early is an important task because the number of guests you invite will have a big impact on the budget.  You may want just a small ceremony with just a few close friends, or you may want a large function with over 100 people. The number of guests you invite will affect your venue choices as well as hiring of support staff. Typically in weddings over half the costs go into the wedding reception so if you are on a tighter budget you will need to cut back on the number of guests.

#5  Consider Hiring a Wedding Planner:

If your ceremony is more complex and you don’t have the time it is probably a good idea to hire a wedding planner.     Make sure you pick a good company or person.  Try to find out a list of their previous clients and contact them to find out how well their weddings were organized.  This is an important step that you shouldn’t overlook.

#6 Decide and Organize Professional Services:

You will need to think about musicians, wedding photographers and florists.  If you are working with a wedding planner they will be able to assist with their industry contacts.

#7  Decide on the Wedding Dress:

This will very much be determined by budget.  If you are getting a standard off the rack dress it will cost a lot less than an elaborate designer style.  If you are getting a custom dress made then you need to allocate more time to the process.

#8. Finishing Touches:

Send out the wedding invitations, organize your wedding favors and tie up any loose ends.  Oh, and don’t forget you also need to plan your honeymoon!
